Search Function

Using Search

The Search function performs a keyword search to find a program listing based on an event title, the name of an actor/actress or a specific word. The total number of searches that the search history can store is 30.

The Search feature can be access in one of two ways:

  1. Press the Search ( # ) button on the remote
  2. Press the MENU button on the remote
    • Select Themes & Search
    • NOTE: Select TV Listing for Model 721 and 921
    • Select Search

When searching, the title/name/word can be entered in two ways:

  1. Using the on-screen keypad
Note: move the blue cursor buttons to the desired letter or number and press Select.
  2. Using the remote control alphanumeric buttons. How?
  3. Note: Use the left button (Theme) on the remote to correct a letter/number and (0) for space.
Search results display events found for each day, up to 9 days into the future (if the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) has been recently updated). A Search History is also available that displays previous search words. By selecting a previously used search word from the list, a new search is conducted using that search criteria.

Search Tip: To search for programs such as "ER" and "Ed" without getting a search result of all programs that include the letters "er" and "ed", just put a space before the letters AND a space after the letters (in effect, it's like putting quotes around the letters). This will focus the search to words that, in the case of "ER" and "Ed" are only two letters long.

Shortcut: Pressing the # (search) button twice will start your last search and take you directly to the results screen.
