Attention 031
Cause
This message appears when attempting to order a program that is not available for purchase. If the channel is listed as "Off Air" in the EPG, this attention message appears when the channel is not scheduled to show programming.
Prevention
This cannot be prevented on events that are not available for purchase or when the channel is not scheduled to show programming.
Troubleshooting
- Press the Guide button on the remote. Select a channel that can normally be viewed.
If the channel is listed as "Off Air" in the Guide, the channel is not scheduled to display programming at this time. No further troubleshooting is necessary. Once the channel is scheduled to show programming, the program information will appear in the Guide.
- If the problem persists please contact us or a local independent retailer for additional assistance.
Symptom
Error 032
Cause
This message appears when trying to set up a VCR Event Timer and the VCR setup has not been completed.
Prevention
Enter in the three-digit VCR code into the VCR Setup Screen before creating VCR Event Timers.
Troubleshooting
Complete the VCR Setup by selecting Yes and following the subsequent screens.
- Press the Menu button on the remote. Go to System Setup, Installation, VCR Setup
Menu, 6, 4 for model 721.
- Enter a three-digit VCR code for the brand of VCR.
- Select Test.
- Verify there is a blank tape in the VCR that can be recorded on.
- Select OK, the receiver will go through messages 045, 046, 047, and 048.
- Select OK on message 048.
- Select Save if the test was successful.
- If the test was unsuccessful, repeat steps 2 through 7.
Symptom
Information 033
Cause
This message is specific to the JVC IRR receiver. When in the VCR Setup menu on the IRR, selecting Set Date/Time will cause Information 033 to appear. The time for the built in VCR of the IRR is set by the EPG time.
Prevention
This cannot be prevented when trying to set the date and time in the JVC IRR receiver.
Troubleshooting
No troubleshooting is necessary.

Cause
Appears when an invalid date is entered for a manual timer.
Prevention
Enter a valid date when creating manual timers.
Troubleshooting
- Use a valid date for an event timer.
Symptom
Error 035
Cause
Appears when an invalid start or end time is entered for a manual timer.
Prevention
Enter valid start and end times when creating manual timers.
Troubleshooting
- Use valid times for an event timer.
Symptom
Error 036
Cause
This message displays when a channel was not selected prior to entering a time and date.
Prevention
Select a channel before entering in the time and date.
Troubleshooting
- Choose a channel to set an event timer.
Symptom
Error 037
Cause
This message will appear if the same start and stop times have been selected for a timer.
Prevention
Create timers that are at least one minute in length.
Troubleshooting
- Set a length of time for an event timer.
Symptom
Error 038
Cause
This message is displayed when invalid start and stop times have been entered while creating a timer.
Prevention
Enter valid start and stop times when creating timers.
Troubleshooting
- Set start and stop times for an event timer.
Symptom
Error 039
Cause
This message appears when multiple timers are selected to edit.
Prevention
This can be prevented by only selecting one timer to edit at a time.
Troubleshooting
- Edit one event timer at a time.
Symptom
Error 040
Cause
This message appears when a timer has not been selected to be edited.
Prevention
This can be prevented by choosing a timer to edit before selecting the Edit option.
Troubleshooting
- Select the timer that needs to be edited.
