Adult Guard is a feature which allows you to actually remove the adult services from the Electronic Program Guide. Selecting the actual channel numbers or selecting channel 480 or 490 will lock out those channels AND hide them.
To REMOVE the channels from the EPG:
Press the Menu button.
Highlight the Locks option and press Select.
Choose the Channel Locks option and press Select.
Scroll through the listed channel numbers until (492-498). Highlight channel 480 or 490 and press the select button. (NOTE: checkmark will appear next to the channel information).
Highlight the Save option and press Select.
Highlight the Lock System option and press Select.
Enter a 4 digit password, then highlight OK and press Select.
Re-enter the password for confirmation, highlight OK and press Select.
The system is now locked (NOTE: This also automatically locks out the PPV channels, and requires the password to be entered to view or order PPV).
Press the Guide button. Notice that the 'padlock' in the upper left corner, on some models, is now closed and the adult channels are not listed in the guide any more.
To VIEW channels that have been removed from the EPG:
Press the Menu button.
Highlight the Locks option and press Select.
Enter the 4 digit password, highlight OK and press Select.
Highlight the Unlock System option and press Select.
The system is now unlocked and the adult channels can be viewed.
When finished viewing the programming, you will need to RE-LOCK the system in order to re-hide the channels.
To LEAVE the channels on the EPG, but LOCKED OUT:
Press Menu.
Highlight the Locks option and press Select.
Highlight the Ratings Locks option and press Select.
Highlight the NR/AO option and press Select. A checkmark should now be in this box.
Highlight the Save option and press Select.
Highlight the Lock System option, and press Select.
Enter a 4 digit password, highlight OK, and press Select.
Re-enter the password for confirmation, highlight OK and press Select.
The system is now locked. The PPV channels and any show that has a NR/AO (Not Rated/Adult Only) rating will require a password to be entered in order to be viewed.
