Commercial Skip and Picture Freeze
Explain
With commercial skip, a countdown timer returns your TV to the original channel, so you can "surf" through other channels during program breaks. Picture Freeze captures the current image frame and displays it on the TV screen. When you unfreeze the picture it will return to current 'live' programming and not continue on from the selection.
Contrast Expand
Explain
Adjusts the contrast of the picture according to the light in the room.
Digital 3-line comb filter
Explain
The comb filter helps to separate color signals from black and white, providing a sharper picture. Of the three types, the 3DYC provides the sharpest picture, then the digital (2-line or 3-line) comb filter, then the analog.
DISH DVI-HDTV Input
Explain
DVI (Digital Visual Interface) is a digital video connection between HD receivers and supported HDTVs. This type of connection provides a high quality image and no quality loss due to the fact that all signals are purely digital. DVI does not include Audio. This is the default input setting on the monitor.
Dolby Virtual
Explain
Available only for stereo signals. Creates a virtualized surround sound experience from two
speakers using the Dolby Pro Logic decoding. It provides the sensation of being surrounded by
additional speakers.
Dual speaker stereo and Virtual Dolby with dbx Noise Reduction
External speaker connections and Subwoofer outputs
Front Panel Connections
Explain
The monitor has front panel connections for your convenience. These connections may be located on the left-hand side of the monitor. Note: Do not try to use the S-Video and RCA Video In at the same time because the two signals interfere with each other.
Fully controlled by Dish Network 8.0 UHF Pro remote
One-Touch Satellite Viewing
Explain
Once the HDTV monitor and HD Receiver are connected with a DISH DVI cable, pressing the SAT button on the 8.0 UHF Pro Remote Control will turn on the receiver and monitor and select the DISH DVI input.
PIP (Picture-In-Picture) and POP (Picture-Outside-Picture)
Explain
Description: PIP lets you watch two channels at one time - one channel on the main screen and
the other in a smaller window. POP also lets you watch two channels at one time- one channel on
the left side of the screen (the main picture) and the other on the right.
Requirements: Press the PIP button to bring up the PIP window. Press again to bring up POP.
Note: PIP and POP are NOT available while viewing HD programming.
Scan Velocity Modulation (SVM)
Explain
Improves picture sharpness in the transitions between dark and light areas of the TV screen.
Sleep and Wake Timers
Sound Logic Audio Leveling
Explain
Automatically adjust the picture volume to tone down blaring commercials.
V-Chip Parental Controls
Explain
Description: You can block programs and movies by content, age-based ratings, and/or movie ratings. TV Parental Controls are not available for DISH DVI, Component 1 or Component 2 inputs. On these inputs, the satellite receiver would provide the programming limits.
Requirements:
- Set up the Parental Control menu in the TV's main menu.
- The broadcasters must use the rating system when they send the program to your TV in order
for your TV to block the program.
- Parental controls must be locked for these settings to take affect.
Video Noise Reduction
Explain
Used to reduce picture "static" especially useful in providing a clearer picture for weak off-air signals. Video Noise Reduction is only available on 480i SD pictures on Component 1 & 2 inputs.
