Parental Controls and Locks allow you to password-protect programming based on rating or channel-by-channel basis.

Important: You MUST lock the system to activate any type of lock that was selected. For dual-tuner receivers (222, 322, 522, 622, 625, 722, 942) TV1 and TV2 must be locked separately for all tuners to be locked. * When creating a DVR Timer, select Protect and lock the System Lock to prevent the recorded event from being deleted.

Please Note: If subscribed to the iTV Karaoke application, and System Lock is set on the receiver, the karaoke application will be locked. Enter the locks password to unlock the karaoke application. This was done to prevent explicit language from displaying when it is unwanted.

How to Create Password (Lock the system)

1. Press Menu on the remote
   
For Model 7100/7200: Home - Settings - Limits
2. Select the Locks or Parental Controls option from the Main Menu.
   
Note: If the receiver is locked, it will prompt you to enter the password.
3. Select the Lock System option.
   
Enter a password (4 digit number) using the number pad buttons on the remote.
4. Select the OK option.
   
Re-enter the password.
5. Select the OK option.

How to setup Rating Locks


1. Press Menu on the remote
   
For Model 7100/7200: Home - Settings - Limits
2. Select the Locks or Parental Controls option from the Main Menu.
   
Note: If the receiver is locked, it will prompt you to enter the password.
Enter a password (4 digit number) using the number pad buttons on the remote.
3. Select the Ratings Locks option.
4. Highlight the Rating that corresponds to the lowest acceptable audience age.
   
Note: All ratings that are more restrictive than the selected rating are also selected.
Only SIRIUS ch. 6020, 6027, 6028, 6040, 6042, 6044 and 6045 can be locked.
5. Press the Select button to lock the highlighted rating.
   
6. Select the Save option to save the changes.
7. Select Lock System on the System Locks menu and enter a password (4 digit number) to lock the channels.

How to setup Channel Locks


1. Press Menu on the remote
   
For Model 7100/7200: Home - Settings - Limits
2. Select the Locks or Parental Controls option from the Main Menu.
   
Note: If the receiver is locked, it will prompt you to enter the password.
Enter a password (4 digit number) using the number pad buttons on the remote.
3. Select the Channel Locks options.
4. Highlight the desired channel.
5. Press the Select button to lock or unlock the highlighted channel.
   
If the check box next to the channel has a checkmark, the channel is locked.
If the check box next to the channel does not have a checkmark, the channel is unlocked.
6. Select the Save option to save the changes.
   
Note: These channels can be removed from the EPG by selecting the Hide Locked option.
7. Select Lock System on the System Locks menu and enter a password (4 digit number) to lock the channels.

How to setup Front Panel Lock


1. Press Menu on the remote
   
For Model 7100/7200: Home - Settings - Limits
2. Select the Locks or Parental Controls option from the Main Menu.
   
Note: If the receiver is locked, it will prompt you to enter the password.
Enter a password (4 digit number) using the number pad buttons on the remote.
3. Select Front Panel Lock
4. Select the Yes option.
5. Select Lock System on the System Locks menu and enter a password (4 digit number) to lock the channels.

How to Change Password


1. Press Menu on the remote
   
For Model 7100/7200: Home - Settings - Limits
2. Select the Locks or Parental Controls option from the Main Menu.
   
Note: If the receiver is locked, it will prompt you to enter the password.
Enter a password (4 digit number) using the number pad buttons on the remote.
3. Select the Change Password option.
   
4. Enter the current password.
5. Select the OK option.
   
6. Enter a new password.
7. Select the OK option.
   
8. Re-enter the new password.
9. Select the OK option.

How to Lock PPV


1. Press Menu on the remote
   
For Model 7100/7200: Home - Settings - Limits
2. Select the Locks or Parental Controls option from the Main Menu.
   
Note: If the receiver is locked, it will prompt you to enter the password.
Enter a password (4 digit number) using the number pad buttons on the remote.
3. Select the Lock PPV option
   
   • UnLock PPV - pay-per-view channel(s) are already locked.
     
   • Lock PPV - pay-per-view channel(s) are Not Locked.
4. Select Lock System on the System Locks menu and enter a password (4 digit number) to lock the channels.

How to Hide Adult


1. Press Menu on the remote
   
For Model 7100/7200: Home - Settings - Limits
2. Select the Locks or Parental Controls option from the Main Menu.
   
Note: If the receiver is locked, it will prompt you to enter the password.
Enter a password (4 digit number) using the number pad buttons on the remote.
3. Select Hide Adult to Hide the channels
   
• Unhide Adult - the adult channels are hidden.
  
• Hide Adult - the adult channels are Not hidden.
4. Select Lock System on the System Locks menu and enter a password (4 digit number) to lock the channels.


Note: To hide locked channels and adult channels on models 1000, 2800, 3000, 4000, 5000, IRR, and 7100/7200, set up a channel lock for channels 480 and 490.

How to Hide Locked
