DishPASS allows the manual creation of a timer with all options. The search does not search the following channels: unsubscribed, CD, Pay-Per-View, Adult, hidden locked.
- Press DVR three times on the remote (twice for a 942 receiver).
- Select DishPASS.
- Select the Search Method of Exact Match, Title or Info.
- Use the alpha-numeric number pad on the remote or the on-screen keyboard to enter a program title, actor name, or keyword. To search for programs such as "ER" without getting a search result of all programs that include the letters "er", put a space before and after the letters (it's like putting quotes around the letters).
- Select Options.
- Set Protect Event if desired. Select Set Channel and enter the event channel number. Adjust start and end time if desired. Select Done.
- Select Set Priority.
- Left arrow to select event. Use the Move Up option to adjust the timer priority. Select Done.
- Select Create Timer.
- Name Based Explain
Only events matching the specified program name will be recorded.
- Options Explain
Provides options for setting start early time, end late time, maximum number of recorded events, recorded event protection and recording resolution.
How To?
Change End Late Time of Current Recording
Modifying the end time will allow customers to watch all of their recording if the programmer extends the end time due to overtime or other programming issues. While the event is already recording...
- Press Record on the remote.
- Press FWD on the remote to extend the end time up to 90 minutes.
- Press Select on the remote to select OK.
Change Start Early or End Late Time of New Recording
- On the Create Timer screen, select Timer Options.
- Change the Start Early and End Late times by using the left and right arrow buttons on the remote.
- Select Done.
- Select Create Timer.
Change Max Number of Events
This option is used when setting a DVR timer (with the exception of the "Once" timer) to avoid filling up the hard drive. This feature can also be used to have the receiver automatically record newer events over old events for the same timer, so old events do not have to be manually deleted.
- When setting up a timer, select the type of timer that is desired (with the exception of the "Once" timer).
- Go to Options.
- Change the Maximum Recorded Events from # (pound) to the desired number of events.
- Select Done.
- Priority Explain
Sets priority levels so the receiver knows what programs are the most important.
How To?
DVR Priority settings are used to prioritize timers should there be a conflict between timers. The top of the list is the highest priority and takes precedence. The bottom of the list is the lowest priority. A lower priority timer will not fire if there is a higher priority timer at the same time. Timers that conflict with each other will display Attention 532. The message may display when switching from Single User Mode to Dual User Mode because the receiver recalculates timers for conflicts.
- Press DVR three times on the remote (twice for a 942 receiver). The skip timer icon (red x) designates a conflicting timer.
- Select Timers.
- Select Set Priority.
- Select the timer to change.
- Use the Up and Down arrow buttons on the remote or the Move Up and Move Down options on the screen to move the timer priority one at a time. Use the Move to Top and Move to Last options on the screen to make the timer top or last priority.
- Select Done.
Selecting Automatically resolve by priority will allow the receiver to set the priority level of the timer. The last timer created will have the lowest priority level and will not be recorded if both tuners are being used for other higher priority level timers.
Selecting Change the priority of this timer will allow the customer to set the priority level of the timer. With the new event highlighted in the Daily Schedule screen (the event will display with the skip icon), press Select. Select Restore and then Yes. The new timer will now have a higher priority level than the conflicting timers.

- If Stop Recording Manually is selected, press the remote control STOP button to stop recording.
Important: On-Demand Recording when using Stop Recording Manually, requires you to manually stop the recording by pressing the STOP button. The program will not stop recording by itself. If on-demand recording needs room to record a new event, it will record over its oldest "unprotected" recorded event(s) to make room. If every program is protected and there is no more room to record an event, it will not be recorded.
- Record on TV2
How To?
Dual-tuner receivers do not have a TV2 VCR timer option. The IR Blaster is built into the front panel of the receiver and will not reach the TV2 location. In order to record from TV2 to a VCR, set an Auto Tune timer on TV2 and set up the VCR’s manual timer to record the event.
Dual-tuner DVR's (522, 622, 625, 722, 942) have the Record Plus feature. When a DVR timer is set on the receiver, it automatically records to the TV2 location (default).
