The wireless modem jack is used when a phone outlet is more than 25' from a receiver and/or the installer can not install a phone jack at the receiver.
The wireless modem jack we use works over the existing house electrical system primarily over the negative side. The telephone frequency is injected from the base unit into the house electrical and then is fed through out the house electrical. The remote unit picks up the telephone frequency and supplies the telephone connection for a receiver and/or a telephone. Up to 8 Extension units can be used with a single Phonex Base unit. Only 1 Base unit can be installed in a single residence.

Installation is a breeze. Plug in both the remote and base; press the base unit program button then press the remote program button.
